Sarah, over at Budding Gardener has just posted a fantastic review. I’ve quickly become a fan of her blog and writing style, so if you click over there to see the review, be sure to go back and read her other posts.

In a word, this book is fantastic. Seriously. I have been stretching for a long time (think decades). As a result, I am pretty darn flexible. Or so I thought. This book introduced me to spots I didn’t know stretched (parts of my face, for example), and provided me with examples of something most other stretching instruction I have received completely lacked:

How to breathe.

I didn’t count, but I am guessing there are over 200 different stretches in this book. It begins with a discussion of the basic terms of stretching and moves from there into a brief discussion of stretching styles. And when I say brief, I mean brief… just a couple of pages. But that’s ok - this book is not meant to be a comprehensive guide to all things stretching. It’s mean to get you started, the right way.
