“Timely” is an understatement. I have been feeling hammered by my lack of income. This book gives a real ray of hope in an upbeat fashion. The “Penny Pitfall” tips are tremendous. The one on page 112 (I won’t give away) is definitely worth twice the cost of the book and will be a fabulous stress reliever. I assume this will not be available in libraries for a while. The savings the first few days after reading this book will definitely pay for the book and the shipping. A great tool.

A very practical little book. Has lots of great ideas. Especially useful are the alternatives to buying expensive cosmetics and cleaning supplies by using “green” items that most people probably already have in their kitchens. The book tells you everything from when to look for white sales to why people put coffee grounds in their gardens.

It includes a lot of quick ideas for saving money in places one may not have ever considered possible. The author shows great enthusiasm for her subject and writes with humor making this a enjoyable reference to come back to again and again.

Medisky’s book is not only witty but also quite helpful. She offers great ideas on repurposing old items to inform readers how to save money while lessening their impact on the environment. This book has excellent recommendations on how to save money without drastically changing your lifestyle. The author’s perspective on saving money is refreshing. She acknowledges that saving money is important but not at the “cost” of more important values, such as healthy living and green practices. She identifies many ways to save money even when saving money is not your top priority. I read the entire book in the first 24 hours that I owned it, and then the next day I gave it to my mom to read!
